  I rented a kayak there on 6/11/11. It'a a nice place with friendly staff and reasonable rental rates. They provide the vest, paddle and kayak. They will also trailer the kayak to your point of departure. There was very little waiting - the boat was trailered promptly and the return pickup was prompt as well. If you are not a seasoned kayaker, but want to go to the lighthouse at Cape Lookout National Seashore, then I recommend you have them trailer the kayak to the end other of Harkers Island (next to the National park station). That's a lot shorter trip.
